take a break?
ok well i have been playing poker for about just over a year now and im a pretty profitable player. but for the past 3 weeks i have just been running god awful. both online and live live ive lost maybe 600 in my last 3 sessions... and online my roll has just become laughable compared to what it use to be down about 800. In a few spots ive made a few mistakes but mainly ive had a doom switch when it comes to the river. about 70% of my losing hands i have been ahead till the river. so i know im playing well and getting my money in good... so just unlucky i suppose.. but its been happening for almost a month and my bankrolls are standing on their last legs..thinking about taking a few months off to recharge my br and hoping this bad luck rubs off?... need sugestions on how to combat this bad run HELP PLEASE

Its hard, but good to get a away from it a little bit. It is important that you do not play in the time spand, if you do choose take a break. GL, and hope everything works out for you

RE: take a break?
don't get addicted to omaha, its a game where if you don't have the bankroll and mindset to be able to take the sick downswings then don't play it, you can still make good money playing hold em despite what people think
In omaha, you're gonna see downswings of 20-30 buy ins on a monthly basis, so if you don't have the roll for it just stay the f away. seen so many monkeys go broke playing omaha. Omaha is truly a rollercoaster. been there done that got the t-shirt. out.
when you say you got your money in 'good', that 'good' in omaha is probably only a 65/35, so you are gna lose alot of the time. might cause you to tilt, If you're bad at losing don't play omaha, simple. if you have the temperament (and bankroll) of antonius or ivey then by all means go nuts.
and taking breaks ftw. good luck.

RE: take a break?
My advice is as follows:
1) Suspend your online account for the most months you can 2) Don't believe the positive advice you will get from other losers here 3) Join a local Gambler's Anonymous support group wearing a t-shirt saying "I'm with Isildur1" 4) Stop reading my posts
You know you want these lips wrapped around your #@$% you dirty boy you!!!

RE: take a break?
Breaks are very important. You probably played with a "reduced mindset to play poker" due to your tilts and bad luck, Wich probably caused as well some $ leaks and bad decisions.
When I get these types of swings, I stop and play only when I'm ready. It may takes 3 days, 2 weeks, but you need to stay away from Poker until your A mindset is back. And the most important, you had x money, now you have y. Don't chase the x and accept the y.
